And convincing me more and more that costumes and setting are a -way way way way way way- more important elemenbt of live games than the vampire crowd often gives them credit for.

Maximized Energy Drain requires a twelfth level spell slot. Barring arcane-thesis wankery or spontaneous metamagic, thats a minimum level...27 lich.

So, at present V has the power of 3 epic-level spellcasters, including demonstrating Epic spells that commit genocide on a global level and crack artifact-level resistance.

Xykon's most powerful demonstrated spell is Disintegrate (Level 8). He has never (despite having many opportunities to do so) demonstrated any epic capabilities other than being mean. even if he -has- ninth level spell access, making him an 18th level sorcerer, V has him beat to rights.

Really mean, but still.

I don't quite see what Roy is worried about here.

When i *ahem* acquire books on the internet, the pdfs hang around on my pc, and are infinitely available out in the internet underground from one sharer or another.

When i -buy- PDFS from reputable resellers, WOTC decides to pull their product over a fit of pique about PHB 2 hitting the net, canceling (in what is actually a breach of contract with me) my promised ability to redownload those products indefinitely.

So i'm out (due to not redownloading after my last hard drive crash), $10 and my copies of Die, Vecna, Die and the Planescape Campaign Setting.

GET IT THROUGH YOUR HEADS, WOTC. IF YOU TREAT ME WELL, I WONT STEAL FROM YOU. THIS SHIT DOESNT SAVE YOU MONEY.

(the above discussed *ahem* acquisition is of course, purely hypothetical.)

So, My mom's in the hospital and I'm in orange county. (She's going to be fine, so nobody needs to freak out.) Still, when i woke up this morning my only plans were to play some wow and go to game. Now i'm 500 miles from where i started, and i still feel like i'm playing catchup. Life can be funny sometimes.
